Extruded Rubber Manufacturing Process

As published by IQS Directory (Industrial Quick Search) in “Rubber Trim: Types and Production Process” (section “Extruded Rubber Manufacturing Process”), extruded rubber manufacturing is presented as a continuous method for producing consistent rubber profiles by forcing prepared rubber compound through a shaped die.

The process begins by mixing rubber with additives to meet performance targets, then feeding the compound into an extruder where a rotating screw pushes it forward under heat and pressure. The compound exits through a die that defines the cross-section, then the profile is cured (vulcanized) to lock in final properties before cooling, cutting to length, and secondary steps such as splicing, adhesive application, co-extrusion, or adding metal/plastic carriers when needed for fit and retention.
